JIC Institute of Investment Research released the Investment Opportunities of the New Era - China Investment Development Report (2019) at a press conference in Beijing on May 8, 2019. Zhuang Qianzhi, the Assistant President of JIC Group attended the event and delivered a speech. The press conference discussed the macroeconomic landscape, policy orientation and investment opportunities of 2019 with a central focus on the study and implementation of the spirit of the 2019 Two Sessions.
In his address, Zhuang Qianzhi noted that the global economic growth is expected to slow down in 2019, and the external risks had been increasing as the international environment facing new challenges. China would still face macroeconomic downward pressure. Structural reform and the three critical battles against potential risk, poverty and pollution continued to be weighty tasks. Zhuang said the year of 2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and it would be a crucial year for the nation to achieve the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The central government stressed the importance of keeping strategic focus, of the wielding of counter cyclical policies, the importance of further deepening reform and opening up, stimulating the development of a robust domestic market, invigorating micro entities so as to keep the steady growth of the economy over the long term. Investment activities should pay more attention to the national policies oreientation, in which investment opportunities lied in accordance with.
According to Zhuang Qianzhi, JIC had been upholding the vision of value investment and had carried out various investment activities actively and steadily with the mission of promoting technological progress and industrial upgrading, servicing consumption upgrading and improving the livelihood for the general public. JIC answered the call of ‘going global’ national strategy, and expanded its presence in regions including North America, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia, thereby building up its brand and influence in these markets.
Experts at the press conference said that, the country was facing a more complicated environment at home and abroad in pursuing development this year. At the same time, China was in an important period of strategic opportunity for development and had ample resilience and enormous potential to grow. They said that one must notice the overall situations, and it was important to have faith in the nation’s abilities to solve the conundrum and to achieve new development at a higher level.

The report, which made its debut in 2012 and was in its eighth edition this year, closely focused on the Central Economic Work Conference and the spirit of the 2019 Two Sessions. It also offered analysis of investment trends and opportunities in hot areas in 2019 from the perspectives of finance, industry, reform, opening up and innovation.
