The JIC Investment Workshop –Silver Hair Industry Forum was an event co-organized by JIC and China Elderly Journal. It was hosted by JIC Holdings and opened on November 19, 2015 in Beijing. JIC vice president Liu Zhihong gave the opening address. The forum was focused on the theme of “the Silver Hair Industry: Opportunity • Innovation • Holistic Approach”. It featured guest speakers from government departments, trade associations and leading companies. These speakers interpreted the opportunities and challenges facing the market with regards to the aging population. They also revealed growth patterns and trends within this market, and discussed potential investment opportunities.
During his speech, Liu Zhihong pointed out that serving the elderly is a major issue facing today’s China. There is still a lot of work to do. This work includes, making improvements to current facilities, amenities and services for the aged, and also making sure the knowledge, experiences and skills that elderly people have achieved over decades are cherished and put to good use. Meanwhile, in addition to a national pension system, financial services should also be provided that can build and increase wealth for the elderly. This would allow them to be more assured, relaxed and optimistic in their later years.
According to Liu Zhihong, JIC (as a state-run integrated investment group) is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen. It will seek to promote the silver hair industry in line with national policy. JIC Holdings – JIC’s investment platform for senior healthcare services – is currently on a mission to “serve dignity and value for the Chinese retirees.” It will seek to continue to be an innovator/leader in China’s silver hair industry.
The workshop featured nine guest speakers, including JIC Holdings president, Zhuang Zhe. In his keynote speech, Zhuang Zhe promised that JIC Holdings would continue to pay close attention to investment opportunities in senior care facilities, insurance and health care services. JIC will also build an industrial ecosystem covering both the active population and the aging population. This will allow them to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of the elderly through a wide range of professional services, including: health insurance, senior care insurance and personal health services.
Keynotes and discussions attracted a great deal of attention. The event received extensive coverage from nearly 60 media organizations, including: xinhuanet.com, people.com.cn, gov.cn, Sohu, NetEase and jrj.com.cn.
