2016-07-12

JIC Books (Shanghai Pujiang shop), a recently revamped JIC Books bookshop, opened on July 8, 2016 in Shanghai. Liu Zhihong, chairman of the JIC supervisory board, spoke at the opening ceremony. Also present were Li Guohua, vice governor of Hongkou District, and more than 130 guests from the financial sector, different cultural circles, and the press.

During the opening ceremony, JIC chief supervisor Liu Zhihong, JIC Bookstore president Hua Xue and some of the famous cultural figures in Shanghai, such as Zhu Dake, Chen Zishan and Jiang Xiaoyuan, pushed the start button together to announce the return of JIC Books (Shanghai Pujiang shop).

In his speech, Liu Zhihong stressed that moving into the cultural sector is more than an investment decision because once the physical needs of the people have been met, there is a “rising thirst for excellent books and cultural products.” In reality, it demonstrates the commitment to “fueling the growth of social wealth and wisdom, promoting reading in our community, and reinventing the cultural value” as a state-owned enterprise. Liu invited all to visit JIC Books  and share their ideas.

Originally opened in 2014 as the first JIC Books, JIC Books (Shanghai Pujiang shop) was recently revamped. China Investment Development Co., Ltd. was in charge of design and construction, and now fully redecorated, the bookshop maintains a focus on biographies. It has a floor space of 1500 square meters, including a book shop, a coffee shop, an event hall, a reading room, and more. This combines to create the ideal cultural space for book-selling, cultural events, art shows, and concerts.
