JIC held the JIC Investment Forum "Global Asset Management and Opportunity Outlook" on November 17 in Beijing. Chairman of JIC Supervisory Board Liu Zhihong attended the event and delivered a speech. The investment Forum analyzes the current situation and trends in China's asset management industry, and explores the future transformation and development of the industry, so as to provide insights for China's asset management industry to boost the development of the real economy. 

In his speech, Liu Zhihong pointed out that the new era of asset management industry presents both an opportunity and a challenge. In adapting to the transition of economic development and the transformation of major social contradictions, he said we must uphold the primary mission of serving the real economy. At the same time, as financial reforms deepen and the social financing structure is optimized, it is necessary to give full play to the important role of finance in the construction of a modern economic system. In addition, in the context of strengthening financial stability in the country, more attention should be paid to implementing the general requirements for preventing and controlling systemic risks and enhancing compliance management and risk management capabilities.

He emphasized the need to grasp technological innovation and actively embrace the profound changes brought about by the development of financial technology to the asset management industry, and we must earnestly study the impact of technological innovation and actively respond to the changes, in order to promote the deep integration and synergistic development of the asset management business and financial science and technology. At the same time, we must also take on a global perspective and achieve a higher quality and more competitive development under a new pattern of full opening-up, in order to enhance our ability to develop and compete in “going-global” and “bringing-in”.

Gao Xiqing, former general manager of China Investment Corporation (CIC) and former vice chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Zhou Xiangyong, general manager of Guotai Asset Management, attended the event and delivered keynote speeches. Zhou Yuan, former chief strategy officer of CIC, Tan Shuo, deputy general manager of JIC Trust, and Zhong Rongsa, vice chairman of Asset Management Association of China attended the roundtable discussion on topics including "Innovation and Transformation of Asset Management under the Supervision of Reform" and “2018 Multi-Asset Allocation and Uncertainty Response".
