The press conference themed Challenges and Opportunities during the Covid-19 Pandemic - China Investment Development Report (2020), jointly sponsored by JIC Institute of Investment Research and Social Sciences Academic Press was held in Beijing on May 26, 2020. The influence of 2020 Covid-19 pandemic to the macro-economies both at home and abroad, to the financial market and to the industrial investment was discussed and analyzed at the conference. Mr. Huang Jianjun, vice president of China Jianyin Investment (JIC), delivered a speech. The related executive officials, experts, media and audience attended the meeting online.

Mr. Huang Jianjun pointed out that the world economic, falling prey to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, was brimmed with risks and challenges, he said that the global recession was on the way. The impact of the pandemic on China's economy was temporary, and China's economy toward stability and growth remained un-changed in the long run. A comprehensive study and analysis of the impact of the pandemic on the economy and finance with a long term view was helpful to better cope with the risks and challenges. Yet at the same time, opportunity and challenge were the two sides of a coin. All we needed to do was to spot and catch some investment opportunities out of such crises and chaos, accelerating the economic restructuring, industrial transformation and upgrading, while expanding new growth, so as to firmly hold the initiative of development.

Mr. Xie Shouguang, President of Social Sciences Academic Press, spoke highly of the Report in his speech. Mr. Zhang Ming, researcher of Institute of World Economy and Politics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, analyzed the impact of COVID-19 on the world and Chinese economy in his speech; then he gave an outlook on the world and Chinese economic situation in 2020. Mr. Zhang also expatiated some of the related macro-economy policies.

The event was the official release of the China Investment Development Report (2020). The report, which made its debut in 2012, had been published for nine consecutive years. The Report 2020 reviewed the development of Chinese economy and investment in 2019 and predicted their trend in 2020. At the same time, the report also made an in-depth analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on macro-economy, financial market and related industrial investment, aiming to provide investors with valuable and referential insights.
